as far as the NFORCE SYSTEM MANAGEMENT CONTROLLER the upgrade advisor is saying that there is a FREE UPDATE AVAILABLE - THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDES SOFTWARE TO USE THIS DEVICE ON WINDOWS 7.

the upgrade advisor does say to CHECK WINDOWS UPDATE to make sure I have the latest drivers for some of the hardware in the laptop. the drivers on the HP site are for VISTA only there are no WINDOWS 7 drivers for my laptop. is it possible that the upgrade advisor is misreading the chipset for some unknown reason.

Don't install only Network Management Tools "Sedona" from this package) I appreciate you telling me not to be concerned about the alerts from the upgrade advisor. Nvidia Chipset here ( First install this and reboot. could you please tell me exactly what to install. am I to install everything from this package. I'm not understanding what you mean by DON'T INSTALL ONLY NETWORK MANAGEMENT TOOLS "SEDONA" FROM THIS PACKAGE. the NVIDIA CHIPSET link that you are suggesting I download is for the 630i and I have the 630M CHIPSET.

and I have stumbled across posts saying not to use a driver unless it is for the chipset. over the past 2 days I have done so much searching and reading about this NFORCE SYSTEM MANAGEMENT CONTROLLER. Then I ran the above Geforceĭriver from the USB pendrive, and the problem of the resolution was solved.Thankyou so very much for all your help and I don't mean to question your knowledge, so I do apologize. went smoothly and took about 2 hours, and Windows 10 was installed in my PC.ĥ) Initially, the resolution was very bad, and I checked in Control Panel, Video Device Driver, I noticed that the standard video driver of Microsoft was installed, even though the GeForce driver was still in the Installed Programs. The name of this file is: .Ģ) I downloaded "MediaCreationTool.exe" from Microsoft and saved it in the USB pendrive.ģ) I ran the "MediaCreationTool.exe" choosing install this computer (not generate ISO disk), and soon after the message "downloading windows 10" I took out the pendrive (I don´t know whether this is necessary - I just read in somewhere).Ĥ) The downloading, installing w10, etc. After many unsuccessful attempts, including using the ISO disk downloaded from Microsoft, I was able to upgrade my Windows 7 圆4 to Windows 10, doing the following:ġ) I downloaded the driver NVIDIA GRAPHICS DRIVER version 309.08 (this is the same driver I used under W7) and saved it in a USB pendrive.
